Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling five balls in the air.
You name them: work, family, health, friends, and spirit,
and you're keeping all of them in the air.
You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball.
If you drop it, it will bounce back.
But the other four balls - family, health, friends, and spirit are made of glass.
If you drop one of these, they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked,
nicked, damaged, or even shattered. They will never be the same.
You must understand that and strive for balance in your life.
= 인생을 공중에서 5개의 공을 돌리는 것(저글링)이라고 상상해 보세요.
각각의 공을 일, 가족, 건강, 친구, 그리고 영혼(나)이라 명명하고,
모두 공중에서 돌리고 있다고 생각해 보세요.
조만간 그대는 일이라는 공은 고무공이어서
떨어뜨리더라도 바로 튀어 오른다는 것을 알게 될 것입니다.
그러나 다른 4개의 공들(가족, 건강, 친구, 그리고 영혼(나))은
유리로 되어 있다는 것도 알게 될 것입니다.
만일 그대가 이 가운데 하나라도 떨어뜨리게 되면 떨어진 공들은 닳고, 상처입고,
긁히고, 깨지고, 흩어져 버려 다시는 전과 같이 될 수 없을 것입니다.
그대가 이 사실을 이해하고,
그대의 인생에서 이 5개의 공들의 균형을 갖도록 노력해야 합니다.
How?
Don't undermine your worth by comparing yourself with others.
It is because we are different that each of us is special.
Don't set your goals by what other people deem important.
Only you know what is best for you.
Don't take for granted the things closest to your heart.
Cling to them as your life, for without them, life is meaningless.
= 그럼 어떻게 균형을 유지할 수 있단 말입니까?
자신을 다른 사람들과 비교함으로써 그대 자신을 과소 평가하지 마십시오!
왜냐하면 우리들 각자는 모두 다르고 특별한 존재이기 때문입니다.
그대의 목표를 다른 사람들이 중요하다고 생각하는 것들에 두지 말고,
자신에게 가장 최선이라고 생각되는 것에 두십시오.
그대 마음에 가장 가까이 있는 것들을 당연하게 생각하지 마십시오.
그대의 삶처럼 그것들에 충실하십시오.
그것들이 없는 그대의 삶은 무의미합니다.
Don't let life slip through your fingers by living in the past or for the future.
By living your life one day at a time, you live ALL the days of your life.
Don't give up when you still have something to give.
Nothing is really over until the moment you stop trying.
Don't be afraid to admit that you are less than perfect.
It is this fragile thread that binds us together.
Don't be afraid to encounter risks.
It is by taking chances that we learn to be brave.
Don't shut love out of your life by saying it's impossible to find.
= 과거나 미래에 집착해 그대의 삶이 손가락 사이로 빠져나가게 하지 마십시오!
그대의 삶이 하루에 한 번인 것처럼 삶으로써 인생의 모든 날들을 살게 되는 것입니다.
아직 베풀어 줄 수 있는 것이 남아 있다면 결코 포기하지 마십시오!
그대가 노력을 멈추지 않는 한 아무 것도 진정으로 끝난 것은 없습니다.
그대가 완전하지 못하다는 것을 인정하기를 두려워 하지 마십시오!
